Shipping & Receiving Associate

As the Shipping and Receiving Associate, you will be working under the direction of the Materials Coordinating Supervisor. The Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for the handling of inbound and outbound material, loading and unloading trucks, and processing customer shipments. On a daily basis, he or she will package boxes with customer parts, build custom pallets for large orders, and use a tow motor to load and unload trucks.

The Shipping and Receiving Associate is expected to understand basic carpentry and use those skills to build custom pallets and crates for customer orders. He or she must also work with our ERP software, along with online shipping tools, to process and ship customer packages. A valid driver license is required as there are times when customer orders need to be delivered or required parts need to be picked up. Attention to detail is a must, as this person will be driving a tow motor often, providing key information for the correct delivery of items to customers, and exercising safety awareness to prevent personal and material accidents. As the last point of contact for all outbound material it is key that accuracy and quality are a focus.

Responsibilities:

  • Unloading and loading all inbound and outbound materials.
  • Packaging parts in boxes for ground shipments to customers and returns to vendors.
  • Creating large skids, pallets, and crates for LTL shipment to customers.
  • Delivering orders to customers and picking up required parts as needed.
  • Accurately inputting data into our ERP software, along with online shipping software, to ship all customer orders.
  • Double-checking all outbound orders for accuracy in material data (weight, length, etc.) and shipping data (address, ship method, etc.).
  • Keeping an organized and clean environment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma.
  • Proficiency managing time, including an ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • Be able to demonstrate attention to details and good record keeping.
  • Team player and can collaborate with others in the organization.
  • Show initiative, thoroughness, and accuracy.
  • Computer and Phone Handling proficiency.
  • Perform all duties in an independent manner with little supervision.
  • Recognize and perform duties which need to be performed, although not directly assigned, and assisting others as needed.
  • Assume responsibility for staying aware of changes in company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain cooperative working relationships with supervisors and other staff members.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude.
